Earlier this year, I applied via Mom Central Consulting to be a 2014 Ambassador for Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA. I was thrilled when I was selected for the program. As an Ambassador, I (and my immediate family) will be able to visit Busch Gardens Williamsburg and/or Water Country USA on two different days in 2014. I have been waiting until closer to our first visit to say anything about being Ambassador, just in case anything were to happen to delay things. However, we are scheduled to visit on Friday and we are so excited!
In 2008, some very dear friends of ours moved to Hayes, VA. Hayes is about four hours away from where we currently live in Martinsville, VA. And, it is close to Williamsburg! The summer after they moved to Hayes, we purchased season tickets to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. They had season tickets, too. We enjoyed three visits to Busch Gardens that summer! Our first visit spanned two days in May, 2009. (see photos below)
There is something for everyone at Busch Gardens. Most of the time, when we went with our friends, there were nine of us total. Some of us liked riding coasters, while others enjoyed watching shows. We all enjoyed the atmosphere. And we stuffed ourselves on great food! Busch Gardens features a variety of concerts and we have enjoyed a few of those, too.
As soon as I was confirmed as an Ambassador, I contacted our friends to let them know. We are going to spend four days with them this weekend and we all plan to visit Busch Gardens on Friday. THIS Friday! The.day.after.tomorrow. Yay! I cannot wait to tell you more about it after we visit! (This time, their two children – both adults – won’t be with us.)
You may not need it; but, if you need more incentive to visit Busch Gardens or Water Country, consider this: There is no lack of activities in the vicinity of Williamsburg.
- The area boasts historic Jamestown, Yorktown, and Colonial Williamsburg.
- Visitors can enjoy any number of museums, including Nauticus.
- The area contains numerous historic properties, such as Shirley Plantation.
- There is a plethora of special events.
- Don’t forget Virginia Beach!
I’m looking forward to posting NEW pictures after Friday. But, for now, here are a few from our visit in May, 2009.
