Adrenaline is a family-friendly faith-based movie featuring Michael Rosander as a drag racer Joseph Jenkins, who becomes bitter toward life and his future after a street crash leaves him paralyzed. He feels that he is nothing without his identity as a drag racer. While turning his back on his long-time friend (whom he eventually accepts back into his life), he finds hope and solace with the help of Elijah Salisbury (Gregory Alan Williams). Elijah has troubles of his own, but that doesn’t stop him from sharing his faith in God with the bitter and doubting Joseph! While Elijah assists with Joseph’s emotional turmoil, his physical therapist assists with his physical deficits. Together, they encourage Joseph to move on with his new normal. Meanwhile, “Uncle Paul,” a friend of Joseph’s father, re-enters his life to settle an old debt.
With the help of his friends old and new, will Joseph get his priorities straight?
Adrenaline is approved as family-friendly by the Dove Association and has received Dove’s 5-star award. With John Schneider starring as the amiable Uncle Rick, it is hard not to like this movie (especially if you grew up watching Dukes of Hazzard).
Belying its title, Adrenaline is not a particularly fast-paced movie. Rather, it is slow and steady with a predictable conclusion. However, the racing scenes do infuse some excitement. And, in my opinion, it’s the scenes between Joseph and Elijah that are heartwarming, poignant, and not to be missed!
